

Born on the afternoon of May 2, 1997, Leighton Mow was the youngest of four children. Leighton’s educational career started at Pali Preschool and continued through Moanalua Elementary, Middle and High school. Leighton aspired to attend Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
Baseball was always a big part of Leighton’s life starting at the age of four. He participated in numerous outside leagues including PAL, Little League, and Adult League. Leighton also played flag football with his brother. He played on the Moanalua Junior Varsity baseball team, and was looking forward to trying out for the Varsity team in the coming season. Leighton worked hard and was known as a team player no matter what team he played on.
Leighton was also a part of various extracurricular groups. In elementary school he was a Junior Police Officer and played violin in the afterschool orchestra program. Leighton continued his violin career through to high school and was the Equipment Manager for the Concert Orchestra. He also participated in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. This past year, Leighton represented Hawaii at the weeklong Engineering and Construction Camp sponsored by the Society of American Military Engineers in North Carolina. At the end of the program, Leighton’s team was given the “Top Squad” award for their excellence in construction challenges. Leighton was also a member of the Moanalua Science Club, See Dai Doo Society, and regularly participated in the United Church of Christ Luaus.
In the little spare time he had, Leighton enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, and playing video games. Leighton also enjoyed going to the Nuuanu YMCA gym with his family, and Ward UFC gym with friends.
Leighton is survived by his father, mother, and three older siblings—Creighton, Wendy, Kimberly-Ann, Chelsie-Ann, and Brandon. Grandparents Betty Leong, and Mr & Mrs George Mow.
