Mary F. Salangron

Born June 22, 1929 Hayashi Camp/Waikapu, Maui. Born to eternal life on March 24, 2012. Graduated from Baldwin High School on Maui, class of 1947.

Wife of 48 years to Gigo Salangron (predeceased) and lovingly raised 6 children: Doreen (Pat) Burnham, Carla (Gregg) Dizon, Cynthia (Stanford) Catugal, Daryl Salangron, Selene Salangron (predeceased), Brent Salangron and raised 1 grandson (Raymond Salangron). She was blessed to know 4 grandsons (Erik Catugal, Keith Marume, Raymond Salangron, Duane Hernandez) and 6 great grandchildren (Gigo Marume, Karli Marume, Sage Marume, Sachi Marume, Monte Marume & Troy Kawika Catugal).

Mary was a devoted orthodox catholic, raised in the tradition of the Latin Mass and proudly sang in church choirs.

Her passion was music and entertainment. She sang with numerous bands and musicians and entertained all over Oahu.

Mary worked for Dole Pineapple on the island of Lanai for many years and retired after 29 years with Kamehameha Schools, Kapalama on Oahu.

Mary travelled to the mainland to visit family in California, Las Vegas, Washington & Idaho and especially enjoyed her overseas trip to Italy with her daughter Cindy. Being in Rome and visiting the Basilica was the highlight of her travels.

She loved gardenias and orchids and always had a lovely smile but she could also be fiesty. She spoke her mind and was a woman of strength and courage.

She was gracious and thankful to all who were a part of her life.

We will miss you mom....the best mother and shining example for us.
