Masako Castillo, age 85, was born in Tokyo, Japan, to Senichi and Tokiko Yoshii. She grew up with her four siblings: Junichirou, Hiroshi, Kazuko, and Toshiko.
She married the love of her life, Albert Castillo, on September 20, 1961, and together they raised two children, Craig (Ayano) and Karen (Daniel). They traveled the world as a military family before settling in Hawaii.
Masako worked a variety of jobs over the years, retiring after more than 20 years with Duty Free Shoppers at Honolulu International Airport. She then devoted her time to being a full-time grandmother.
Family was always Masako’s greatest joy. She was a loving grandmother to Keila (Dustin), Trisha (Joseph), Jeanelle (Nicholas), Merrysha, and Elissa, and a proud great-grandmother to Kaleb, Artem, Lennyx, and Aris.
Masako enjoyed traveling, watching Japanese television, playing cards and bingo.
Masako will be remembered for her kindness, quiet strength, and devotion to her family.
