

MEI-CHIH “MEI” CHUN, 75, of Honolulu, passed away December 26, 2011 at her residence. Born September 17, 1936 in Honolulu, she was a retired library assistant for the Hawaii State Public Library System (main branch, Liliha branch and Centralized Processing Center), a social worker for the State of Hawaii, and a teacher's aide at Pali Preschool. A volunteer at the Kalihi YMCA and Lanakila Elementary School, Mei was also a member of the Kalihi Y’s Men’s and Women’s Club and a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Honolulu.
She is survived by husband, Philip S. Chun; son, Randall K.H. Chun; daughters, Susie (Mike S. Oakland) Chun-Oakland and Jeanne (Phil D. Turano) Chun-Turano; 6 grandchildren, Mailene (Shane Tialavea) Oakland Tialavea, Christopher Oakland, Lauren Oakland, Brad Turano, Ryan Turano, and Matthew Turano; 2 great-grandchildren, Mysha Tialavea and Shayden Tialavea.
Services will be on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 1317 Queen Emma Street, Honolulu, Hawaii with a visitation from 4:30-5:00 p.m. and a memorial service at 5:00 p.m. Inurnment in St. Peter's Church columbarium. Reception at St. Peter's Church parish hall. Aloha attire.
