Mercy grew up in Waianae with her parents and siblings after moving from Damon Track, Honolulu.
She was a majorette athlete where she attended Waianae High School.
She was a professional Polynesian dancer. During her youth she danced hula, Tahitian and fire dancing. She performed at the Aloha Tower and traveled to Japan with her Halau to perform and earn wages.
She was co-owner of GBR Masonry which she shared with her husband Dickie Stevens.
Her profession was with numbers and founded Stevens Tax Service where she retired after 20 years.
Through the generations she served on the board of Waianae Tigers Football Association as a member and team mom/gramz for various divisions.
She was involved with the Waianae Pony Baseball league Association.
She was a member of the Hawaii Motorsports Association and Hawaii Super Cross.
She was co-founder to the
Team Stardust Motorcycle Club
She was a great supporter and artist of making Tahitian outfits for her granddaughters hula/Tahitian performances.
