Monte was born on February 18, 1939 in Honolulu, Hawaii to the late Violet Lucas and Charles Snow and was the oldest of two children. Monte graduated from Kaimuki High School in 1956 and went on to work for Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard as a boatbuilder in Shop 64 for 38 years. On his spare time he enjoyed spear fishing, surfing, metal detecting, working on his 1967 GTO, going holoholo down in Waikiki, talking story with friends and family, and seeing his grandchildren grow up. He was a caring husband and father who always provided for his family. Monte is survived by his wife, Camillia Hilo, his sister, Gladys Lucas, his two daughters, Regina Hilo and Stephanie Strong (Hilo), his son, Azariah Hilo, his seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
