Nathan Luke Paioa Kahaulelio was born on Jan 20, 1966, to Jim Boy and Maxine Kahaulelio, where he was the baby of 5 children. He attended Kaaawa Elementary School. At the age of 10 his father suddenly passed away, leaving his mother as a single parent. With the help of Aunty Gwen Kim and Aunty Malia Craven, Nate, and his brother Kenneth attended Queen Liliuokalani Children’s Center for children.
While there, he learned how to work the land by growing fruits and vegetables at Hale Aha. At Hale Aha, he was mentored by Earl Kawaa, Daniel Keuma, and Kenneth Drummando. While working in Ewa Beach he met Lavonne Duvauchelle. He swept her off her feet with his good looks and crazy humor and on July 22, 1993 Nathan and Lavonne eloped at the courthouse in Honolulu, Hi.
In Oct 1994 they welcomed their first child Nathan Luke (Paioa) Kahaulelio Jr. Then in 1996, Nathan and his family moved to Northern California with his brother Suki. Suki, the amazing brother that he is got Nathan a job with Northbay Const, where Nathan worked for many years, traveling all over Northern California.
Then, in Oct 1998 Nathan and Lavonne welcomed their 2nd son Nakoa Charles James Kahaulelio. Nathan continued to work as a heavy equipment operator in Northern California until he retired in Sept 2022 with 30-plus years in the business.
Nathan and Lavonne decided to move back to Hawaii to help care for Lavonne’s father, who was diagnosed with dementia in 2021. Then in 2022 Nathan and Lavonne moved in with Lavonne’s parents in Ewa Beach to help with her father’s care, and on Mar 16, 2025 Nathan unexpectedly passed away in Ewa Beach of natural causes.
