

Noel graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Pharmacology. Noel wanted to the see the world after graduation and went on a three-month bike tour of Europe with his good friends. Noel then started working for pharmacies in Iowa.
Noel had a brief stint in the Army from September 1953 to September 1955 as Surgical Scrub Nurse at William Beaumont Army Hospital and left with a honorable discharge.
Noel felt lucky, he arrived in Hawaii in 1959. You see Noel’s job on Kwajalein Atoll wasn’t going well. His leather suitcase became moldy and fell apart, the heat and the boredom just got to Noel; he bought out his contract and had enough money to move to Hawaii.
Noel soon found work as a Pharmacist for St. Francis Hospital and Long’s Drug Store. Noel found a fully furnished one bedroom cottage in Waikiki with housekeeping services for $100 a month!
Noel meet the love of his live, Faith Patricia Ernesto at St. Francis Hospital. Faith was an Emergency Room Nurse at the time. Noel and Faith married in January of 1962 and started to raise a family of three children, Tricia, Kathleen and John.
Noel worked for Eli Lilly and Company for 30 years as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative and upon retirement, Noel want back to working part-time as your friendly, neighborhood Pharmacist with Longs.
Two of Noel’s proudest achievements while working in the pharmaceutical field was being name Pharmacist of the Year 1973 and winning the Bowl of Hygeia Award, 1980.
Noel enjoyed volunteering throughout his life – Indian Guides, Boy Scouts, Olomana Community Association, Hawaii Pharmacists Association, Hawaii Humane Society, Friends of Kailua Library, Hawaii Plantation Village and the Puerto Rican Heritage Society.
Noel was the ultimate nice guy, jokester, great drinking buddy, father and friend one could have. You will be missed and remember greatly!

Survived by his children: Tricia Evans (daughter), Kathleen Evans (daughter) and John Evans (son)
