Aloha.
I'm an old friend from Moana's Bully Hayes days.  Remember those amazing Heineken house parties in Makakilo.  Lost touch after the 90's.  Was thinking about her the other morning looking at some kapa she gave me  years ago that her mom brought back from Samoa.  Have it framed in my house.  Looked her up to find her obituary.  I have treasured memories of her and her family.  May God Bless everyone.  Much love and Aloha!!  Rest in peace my friend.

I never got my hair pulled. I was always treated like a queen when I went to Momos house by her and the kids. Everything we ate was made from scratch right there in your face as you want it . Wasn’t just eggs and sausage it was an omelette and corned beef hash made from scratch . A sandwich was deli meat turkey, grilled,thinly sliced tomato,gourmet mayo , fresh cut potatoes made into fries or chips . Kids would get fresh fruit smoothies after school. And I would get a whole pan of Banana Cream Pie  for my birthday.  Mmm loved it! Miss you my “Sa moan Queen”

Pam was a dear friend and co-worker at Jolly Roger, Maili.  She was kind and shared her wonderful personality with all of us .  I am truly thankful for having been a small part of her life. May the Lord above grant peace to her family during this time of loss.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you lay her to rest. A beautiful, fun loving, amazing woman who brought so much happiness to so many. God Bless all of you!

My sincere condolences to the family . I’m sorry I wasn’t there for her like I should have . She IS the best cook, baker, cleaner, carpooler, babysitter, scolder, lecturer, nurturer, listener, advice giver, friend, sister, mom, grandma . Truly One of Kind.

Growing up I was lucky to have Aunty Moana as a bonus grandma. Every break, every weekend, every summer… whenever she could get me and my sister with her she would. She would make it a point to come and pick us up and spend the days together. When I was finally able to drive, I made it a point to hang and visit her all the time and every chance I could, I don’t think it will ever feel the same going to the house and not saying hi to her first thing as I walk inside. Every time I was coming over I always made sure to have her caramel frappe or a snack,  she loved her sweet treats and I loved bringing them for her. To know aunty Moana is to know a  strong, loving and outgoing woman whose love is  genuine  and unconditional. That is how I’ll always remember her in my heart. I love my aunty beyond words and I’ll always remember how she loved me my entire life & made sure I knew I was her  smiley sunshiny girl. I’m forever thankful to be loved by her, until we meet again 🤍

May 8, 1951 - July 22, 2025.   Her Dash – For Moana
She was born in Honolulu, a bright island start,
With warmth in her voice and a warrior’s heart.
The date was set, the year began—
But her story lived in what filled that span.
For that little dash held all her days,
Of raised kids, late nights, and her fierce ways.
She wasn’t perfect, but she was real—
And always made sure we had a meal.
She yelled a lot, but loved you more,
Corrected quick, then held the door.
She gave her strength, she gave her best,
And somehow smiled through every test.
She helped raise babies, wiped their tears,
Carried us through the hardest years.
Even when her hands gave out,
She kept on moving—without a doubt.
She didn’t live for crowds or fame,
Just family, peace, and Jesus’ name.
She painted oceans, fed us sweets,
And found her rest at Mercy’s feet.
So now we see her final date—
But that’s not what defines her fate.
It’s how she loved, how hard she tried,
And how she kept us unified.
The dash was hers, she made it shine,
With slippers, sass, and sacred time.
And though she’s gone, her mark will last,
Because of the beauty in her dash.

We knew her as Pam.  She was one special lady who we will never forget. She got me through some difficult times while I lived in Hawaii, and we have continued our friendship for almost 50 years. We have shared so many good times. Many are best left untold.  :)
Pam will always have a special place in our hearts. She was loved by everyone who had the honor of knowing her.  I found out about her passing when Brandy contacted me a few days ago.  Yesterday I went to our local Orange County Fair and I took our grandsons to the ponies.  As soon as we walked up, a pony was standing there with the name MOANA. 
I believe it was Pam's way of telling me "Aloha!"  Until we meet again my friend!  Love Krissy and John Alana
