

Philip "Tenny" Ching, 83, of Honolulu, passed peacefully on January 14, 2017. Philip was born on August 7, 1933 to George Chin Choy Ching and Rose Meu Lin (Chock) Ching. He is survived by wife Shrue, his children by his late ex-wife Sadako Warren Etse, sons Warren Wo On "Sonnyboy" (Youmilane), George Keoki Kalanui (Joan) and daughter Phyllis Rose Mahealani (Domsiano). Philip is additionally survived by his step-daughters Arleen and Evangeline, step-sons Augustine Kohler (Lisa), Randy Ching (Lorynne) and Joas Suda, 32 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, as well as brothers Francis (Carolyn), and Bernard (Alfreda), and sister Theresa (Newton) Nakamoto.
Philip was a graduate of Saint Louis High School and was a beloved and devoted husband, father, brother, in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.
Philip worked for Global Associates on Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands and was Sports Administrator for the Federated States of Micronesia before retiring and returning to Honolulu.
Services on February 11, 2017 at Borthwick Mortuary Makai Chapel. Public viewing and visitation at 10:30 am; service at 11:30 am. Burial service at 3 pm at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery.
Aloha/casual attire. No flowers.
