Phillip Michael Arnold

Phillip Michael Arnold (Jan. 23, 1945-July 21, 2026) passed peacefully at Straub Hospital at the age of 81 years old. He was an intelligent and caring person who dedicated countless hours to serving his community and practicing his Hawaiian culture through his involvement in numerous organizations. A proud graduate of Kamehameha Schools, class of 1963, Phillip remained deeply connected to his alma mater and was actively engaged in a variety of school and class activities throughout his life. His unwavering commitment to service, leadership, and the people around him left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war period and after returning remained in New York and Connecticut where he worked in the financial business and attained several degrees and awards.

He is preceded in death by Arthur M. Arnold (father), Julia T. Arnold (mother), his brothers Arthur Neal and William Dennis Arnold and his niece Deena Arnold. He is survive by his spouse and long time partner, John Roynesdal, brother, Charles E. Arnold (Barbara), many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Celebration of Life will be held on August 17, 2026 at Borthwick Mortuary, 1330 Maunakea St. Visitation at 10:00, Service at 11:00. Burial to follow at 2:00 at Hawaiian Memorial Park.
