Phillip Molina Balgas

On Sunday, February 24th, 2019, Phillip Molina Balgas Sr., loving husband and father passed away at the age of 75. Phillip was born in Honolulu, HI on July 27, 1943 to John and Mary (Molina) Balgas. On May 25, 1964 he married Jeanie Louise Ortiz; together they had four children. Phillip retired from the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation after twenty-eight years.

Phillip was a devoted Christian and passionate musician, who shared his love of Christ through serving in his church’s praise and worship team. He was a hardworking and dependable man, who enjoyed reading the Bible, working in his yard and helping those around him, both family and friends.

Phillip’s memory is cherished and remembered by his wife Jeanie, his four children Julie, Phillip Jr., James and Sandy, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Phillip is also survived by six sisters and one brother.

Phillip’s Celebration of Life will be held on March 29, 2019 at Borthwick Mortuary Maunakea Chapel, 1330 Maunakea St, Honolulu, Hawaii 96817, with public visitation from 10:30am - 11:30am; service will be held from 11:30am - 12:30am. Burial will be held at 3:00pm, on March 29, 2019 at Hawaii Memorial Park Cemetery, 45-425 Kamehameha Hwy, Kaneohe, Hawaii 96744.
