Randy graduated from Waianae High School and went on to serve in the US Marine Corp., a reflection of the steady courage and dependable strength that marked the way he lived. He was a man who did what needed to be done—quietly, capably, and with an efficiency that never drew attention to itself, yet was always felt by those who relied on him.
In the rhythm of everyday life, Randy found joy in simple, meaningful pleasures: listening to old music, playing his guitar, and getting together with friends and family. His presence was a comfort and kind-hearted. He had a way of making others feel that everything was going to be okay. A man of few words, he spoke most clearly through his steadfastness, his generosity of spirit, and the calm reassurance he offered simply by being there.
Randy was beloved and deeply cherished, and his legacy lives on in the many lives shaped by his care and constancy. "There is no expiration date on love between a father and his children... That is God's love to us."
Randy is survived by children Kelly Asinsin (Randy), Brandy-Lee Akuna (Henry), Iris Liboy (Keola), Raquel McCabe “Pikake” (Nathan), Randolph K. McCabe “Braddah”, Bull-John McCabe, and Serena Bertola (Chazton); siblings Blossom Barta (Chris), Ruby Garliyo (Fred), and Charles Newalu; and 33 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
