Raymond was born on May 16, 1965, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Raymond Fukushima Sr. and Peggy Fukushima. From a young age, Raymond—known to many as “Junior”—found joy in the ocean. Whether fishing for papio, diving for tako, or boogie boarding, he felt most at home in the water.
A graduate of Castle High School, Junior had a natural talent for working with his hands. He built a career as a plumber, known for his ability to quickly identify problems and find practical solutions. Through hard work and determination, he eventually started his own business. Outside of work, his love for the ocean remained a constant in his life.
Junior was generous and caring to those he held close.
He is survived by his father, Raymond (Eleanor); his sisters, Georgeen Gaza-Bulseco (Dylan), Roxanne Razo (Timothy), and Shari Tamanaha (Wayde); his brothers, Benson Fukushima (Chrissy) and Jonathan Fukushima; as well as eight nieces and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
A private service will be held with immediate family.
Rest easy, brother.
