I just found out today about Ray's passing, and we were very saddened to hear the news. We last talked on the phone on April 22 of last year, and scheduled a get-together in Honolulu for February of this year during a stop there on our cruise ship.    He was very excited during our conversation about planning for the visit.    My wife and I saw Ray and Nancy when they visited California some years ago. Ray and I worked together in Downey, California, in the 1960s, where we became friends and stayed in touch all these years.   Our deepest sympathy to Len family,

My deepest sympathy to the Len Family (Patrick  and Peter) on the passing of your father.  I am one of Raymond’s cousin from the Len side.  Our family grew up in town with him, his siblings and his parents ( your grandparents).   We were real close and often spend time at your grandparents’ Maliki  home and at their Punahou Store.
During the past several years I often saw your father when he called asking me to drive him to various location (Servco Toyota, restaurants, family get together and even to Pali Momi ER for his  back pain).  The last time I saw him was this past spring when he needed someone to spend the night with him at home after  his discharge from the hospital.   We spent the majority of the evening talking about family history, the good old days and asked about the Len ancestor village in China.  Your father was really good with keeping track of the younger generations of the Len cousins.  Also he was extra proud and  talked to me about his sons and grandkids.     I will truly miss talking to your father.  May his memory be a source of strength and comfort during this difficult time.

My heartfelt condolences to the Len family.
Raymond was a member of our Aiea Neighborhood Security Watch group who helped keep our Neighborhood safe.
He was a person who I could count on. At least once every 4 weeks, he would join me on our Neighborhood Car Patrol. Our cars had magnetic signs "Aiea Neighborhood Security Watch " on each side. Drive around to show presents that someone is looking out for our neighbors.
While driving around, Raymond, still in the City & County mode, would point out to me that those plants planted by the homeowner on the curbside is illegal,
the vehicles registration & safety check were expired-we should call it into the police, that boat shouldn't be parked there, etc.. He would even take pictures if it was illegal. I asked him, "what are you going to go with those pictures?".He replied, "you never know that it may come in handy later". Ha...ha.
He was proud and happy of his grand kids. Always talking about them. I remember, after our patrol was over, he asked me to take him to the bank to pickup dollar bills he ordered to give to his grandkids.
We also went to one of his favorite dessert place in Halawa after our patrol. Getting his lemon bar and/or huge longjohns.
Then he would help pick his neighbors grapefruits and offer them to neighbors.
While on my daily morning walk, walking by Raymond's home, miss seeing him and stopping by to chat with him.
