My heart is broken to know that my dearest friend, Renee, has left this Earth. 

Renee, for many years, you were more than a friend, you were my sister, my Portuguese Hawaiian sister, like you considered me your brother. We were thicker than thieves. You were my confidante. 

You shared all my highs and lows, knew more about me than some in my own family. You supported me unconditionally and were my biggest fan. 

I still remember the day I met you at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, where we became co-workers. Your smile was filled with warm Aloha and I knew you were sincere and totally grounded. Sharing the same birthdate, we bonded, as only fellow Scorpios can.

I arranged your very first trip to Europe and even saw you off and your friend, Kapio'lani, at the airport. We also traveled to the outer islands together and shared many moments at my home on O'ahu. 

I was truly touched when you also became close to my sister Martha, my auntie Josephine and, my better half, Joey.

I will never, ever forget you Renee and I know, we will see each other again.

My best friend, Renee, was the kindest most beautiful friend I could have hoped for.   I came across a quote last week that perfectly described her . . .  “There are
some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone the light remains.”  All will remember her amazing smile, it lit up every room she entered.  I love you, Renee, and you will be in my heart forever, until we meet in Heaven.  My love to her family, Etta Dial
