Mr. Kennedy passed away in his home in Ewa Beach, Hawai’i, at age 66. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to Maria and Robert Kennedy. As he grew older, his parents described him to be exceptional and gifted. In high school, he joined the Civil Air Patrol, with the goal of attending the Air Force Academy. Mr. Kennedy graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1977 as a second lieutenant, and went on to lead a very accomplished career in the Air Force. Mr. Kennedy became a pilot after attending flight school, then rose to the position of an instructor pilot for new Air Force Academy graduates. Other notable positions include advanced presidential agent for the Vice President, George H.W. Bush, and eventual promotion to presidential agent for the President, Ronald Reagan. His career led him to reside at many different bases around the country, eventually bringing him to Hickam Air Force Base in Hawai’i in 2003. He retired from active duty as a colonel in 2007 after 30 years of service and continued to work for Pacific Air Forces as a government civilian. In the 18 years he resided in Hawai’i, he became a longstanding Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America and an active member of the Corvette Club of Hawai’i. Mr. Kennedy’s lifelong passions included soccer and playing guitar. He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother who will be missed dearly. He is survived by his wife Luanfei Kennedy; his daughters Jueqi Liu, Jueyao Liu, Kathleen Ford; his sons Scott Kennedy, Tim Kennedy; his sister Cindy Carter; and his mother Maria Logan.
