

ROSE LUKE “AUNTY ROSE” CHONG, 85 of Honolulu, passed away September 2, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C.F. Chong. Born in Honolulu on May 11, 1928 to parents Hoo Leong and Shee Sui Leong, Rose was a graduate of Farrington High School, a homemaker, a member of the Leong Society and Lung Kong, and a devoted member of the Hawaii Chinese-Vietnamese Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She was an excellent cook and was known for her delicious sushi, chow mein and Singapore noodles.
She is survived by son, James T.W. Chong; daughter, Anne L. Dang; brother, Wai Chow Leong; sister, Lucy C.K. Leong; grandsons, Branson Dang and Spencer Dang; son-in-law, Bradford Dang; daughter-in-law, Abi Tan.
Visitation will be from 1:30-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013, in the Milner Chapel of the Central Seventh-Day Adventist Church (2313 Nuuanu Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii 96817). A Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Private graveside services. Family requests that flowers be omitted. Casual attire is suggested.
