Sandra Pauline Naluai

Haines and Mildred Elizabeth Barr. She grew up in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Mifflin High School. Sandi had two older siblings, Darlene and Daryle, whom she loved and adored.

After graduating from high school, Sandi moved to Puerto Rico from 1960-1961 with her sister before finally moving to Honolulu, Hawai’i in 1961 until her death.

Sandi married Solomon D.K. Naluai November 17, 1962. They raised their six children:

Rhonda Lei, Darla Keala, Derek, Desiree, Kakela, and Kiakahi. Sandi went to beauty school in Honolulu. She opened her own beauty salon, Sandi’s Beauty Salon on Naniloa Loop in La’ie

from 1964-1967. One highlight for Sandi was having her picture taken with Elvis Presley. He was filming the movie Paradise Hawaiian Style in La’ie. She waited for him to come out of his

trailer, asked if she could have her picture taken with him, and the rest is history.

Sandi is survived by her six children, 10 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her two siblings, three grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and her partner of over 30 years, Dennis Padello.
