

Seung Hee Yuen, 93, was born on July 25, 1931 in Hilo, Hawaii. He passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024 at home in Kailua surrounded by his loving family. He was the youngest of 10 children from To Pui and Shun Chen Yuen.
He graduated from President Theodore Roosevelt High School and the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Civil Engineering. He was a Captain in the Air Force, with assignments in Tokyo, Japan and McChord Air Force Base, Tacoma, Washington. After serving for more than five years he received an honorable discharge and returned to Honolulu where he worked at, and retired from Hawaiian Telephone Company.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy “Reiko”, sons, Michael (Jaimie), Peter (Wendy), Andrew, Patrick (Kimi), and daughter, Christine Ong (Brad), grandchildren Lindsey Yuen, Colin Ong, Nicholas (Isabelle) Yuen, Carter Ong, Mari Yuen and Troy Yuen, two great-grandchildren, Kenzo and Reina Yuen and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
