Shayna Maria Kaupea Nihipali-Nelson

Born in Kahuku, she was one of the beloved daughters of Wanda Kaʻanaʻana and Warren Nihipali Sr.

Shayna was the heart of her ʻohana. She was known for her kind spirit, generous heart, and unwavering love for her family. Whether through her talent for sewing, the thoughtful gifts she lovingly made and shared, or simply by reaching out to check on the people she loved, Shayna had a gift for bringing others together. She made everyone feel welcome, remembered birthdays and holidays, and always made time for those she cared about. Her love became the thread that connected generations of her family, and her memory will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Ralph Michael Nelson; her daughter, Kalena Nihipali; her stepson, Michael Nelson (Vickie Nelson); and her cherished grandchildren, Elise and Asher Nelson, whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind many beloved siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever carry her love in their hearts.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hauʻula Makai Chapel, with services to follow at 12:00 p.m. Flowers and leis are welcome.
