Tusi Daniel Kekaula

December 14, 1952 – September 3, 2026

With heavy hearts and an abundance of love, we announce the passing of our beloved Tusi, who gained his angel wings on September 3, 2026.

Tusi was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, respected coach, mentor, and friend. He was a proud and deeply loved member of the Waimānalo community, where his presence and influence touched generations of families.

Throughout his life, Tusi had a passion for baseball, football, and paddling. But to him, coaching was about much more than winning games. He taught discipline, respect, strength, teamwork, perseverance, and the importance of taking care of one another. The lessons he shared extended far beyond the field and the water, and his impact will continue through the many lives he helped shape.

Tusi was known for being strong, outspoken, protective, and sometimes strict—but beneath that toughness was an incredibly big heart. He loved his family fiercely and was always someone they could depend on. His unmistakable voice, laughter, stories, advice, and even his famous scoldings will be deeply missed.

Tusi leaves behind his beloved wife, Kehau Kekaula, and their children, Jesse Kaniala Kekaula (Lahela Isaac’s), Jay Kawika Kekaula (Shayna Kekaula), Janya Kekaula, and Julia-Naomi Lindsey-Kekaula.

His legacy also lives on through his cherished grandchildren, Tusitala Kaniaupio-Kekaula, Piikea Kekaula, Elias Kekaula, Paliku Isaacs-Kekaula, Ko’iau Isaacs-Kekaula, and Apikalia Isaacs-Kekaula, along with his beloved four-legged grandbabies, Baby girl 🐕 Kiele 🐶 Luna 🐾 and Kawai 🐾 and sisters Sharon Miranda and Faala Mautautia along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

To his family, he was our protector and the strength of our home. To his athletes, he was Coach. To countless people throughout Waimānalo, he was a mentor, role model, and friend.

Although our hearts are broken by his passing, we are incredibly proud of the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind. The stories being shared by those whose lives he touched are a reminder of just how special he was.

A husband. A father. A grandfather. A coach. A mentor. A protector. A Waimānalo legend.

His physical presence may be gone, but his lessons, love, strength, laughter, and spirit will remain with us forever.
