

Vernon grew up in Kaka'ako and attended McKinley High School. He was a widower and devoted husband of wife, Helen (Smith), and one of 5 children of George and Hazel (Houghtailing) Stone.
Vernon was a loving brother and is survived by 3 sisters, Aileen (Kenneth) Desantos, Raenette (Clifford) Ing, and Donna (John) Burdine, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vernon loved creating floral arrangements and crafting local jewelry for his aloha jewelry business. He and his wife, Helen took their business on the road as they spent many years traveling to the state fairs in the midwest. Eventually, returning home as a craft vendor at the Aloha Stadium and the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel. He was a happy go lucky person, full of cheer with numerous friends and well loved by one and all.
