

She is survived by husband, Manuel Lapera; sons, David Lapera (Noreen) and Albert Lapera (Jodie); Daughters, Paulette Hernandez (Leonard), Lorna Severns (Darrell) and Cheryl Burnett (Roy); 20 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren;
Sister, Emily Chun; nieces; nephews; friends.
Funeral Service will be held at Borthwick Mortuary 1330 Maunakea Street Honolulu, HI 96817 in the Mauka Chapel, Saturday Novemer 10, 2012.
Family Visitation - 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Visitation - 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Funeral Service - 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Lunch provided by family following service.
Burial Service will be held at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetary 45-425 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, HI 96744 Wednesday November 14, 2012 at 10 a.m.
Vicenta Hanalei Lapera attended Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Campus, during World War II the School was used as a hospital and she was shifted to Farrington High School where she graduated. She had a passion for helping others and went on to become a Registered Nurse, graduating from the Saint Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1949. She worked at Hale Mahalo Hospital in Pearl City caring for Leprosy patients before moving to Leahi Hospital where she retired after 40 years of devoted service.
She was known as "Lei", "Cippy", and "Vicki" to family and friends. She volunteered in her community serving as a Board Member for the Ewa Beach Little League in the 70s and 80s, as well a Bobby Sox Softball Manager and Board Member. She enjoyed spending time with family, friends and especially all the grandchildren. Vicenta Hanalei Lapera was a very loving caring person and will be dearly missed by everyone.
