She is preceded in death by husband, Joseph Akaka: Brother, Herman Ching.
She is survived by sons, Aaron (Karen ) Akaka, Godfrey (Nancy) Akaka, Joseph (Gail ) Akaka Jr. and James (Zena) Akaka; daughters, Sheryl (Patrick) Chalfin, Annie (John) Oury, Josephine (Howard) Kruse and Susan (Bernard) Corichi; sisters, Elizabeth Pimental and Nancy Ching; 32 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Kawaiahao Church at 957 Punchbowl Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813 on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. Visitation is at 9:00 a.m. Service is at 10:30 a.m.
