

Billy was born in Olivia, NC on September 17, 1931 to the late John Harmon Clark Sr and Zaila Godfrey Clark. He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Nancy Jones Clark. He is survived by his daughters, Renee Clark Williams of Hope Mills and Michelle Leigh Clark of Fayetteville; granddaughter Jessica Osborn Kirk and her husband Justin, granddaughter Gabrielle Danae Williams, great-grandsons Neil Montgomery Kirk, Barrett Jones Kirk, and Thomas Arthur Kirk, as well as nephews Les Ridenhour, Cecil Perry, David Perry and nieces Linda Perry and Laura Perry. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his brothers, John Jr and Jimmy Lee Clark, and sisters Jessie Clark Perry, Dolly Mae Clark and Nancy Clark Ridenhour and nephew Ronald Perry.
Billy served in the Air Force from 1950 to 1954 with the 638th AC&W Squadron in Curlew, WA. After his military service, he worked at Roberts Company in Sanford where he met his future wife, Nancy. He graduated from Pfeiffer University in 1961 and had a 35 year career with the Internal Revenue Service.
Billy was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He had a contagious smile that would light up any room. He enjoyed walking, watching old tv shows and movies, and spending vacations at the beach.
Billy was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), in the fall of 2021. PSP is a very rare neurological disorder that affects your body movements, walking, balance, speech, swallowing and eye movement.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1st, 2024, at Haymount United Methodist Church, 1700 Ft Bragg Rd. Fayetteville, NC, with visitation at the family residence immediately following the service.
