Rev. Bobby Ray Hunt

Rev. Hunt was born November 18, 1940 in Enfield, NC to the late Eugene Taylor and Elizabeth Lindsey Hunt. He was one of 16 siblings in a loving and boisterous family. In addition to his parents, Rev. Hunt was preceded in death by several beloved brothers and sisters.

He pastored numerous congregations during his career and found God’s calling especially in small communities in eastern NC. His love to laugh was only outweighed by his love of God and family.

Those left to celebrate his life include his soul mate and wife of 45 years, Dawn Hunt; daughter, Lindsey Hunt Farmer (DJ) of Southern Pines; grandchildren, Trey and Raygan Farmer; “very special family members”, Lee, Yvonne, and Victoria Thompson and Rev. Brad and Lou Keeter; siblings, Beatrice Hunt Olberding, Earnestine Hunt Gibson, Rev. Franklin Hunt, David Hunt, Ronald Hunt, and Linda Hunt McNeely.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 29, 2017 at 2 pm at Rivers of Living Waters Church on Bingham Drive in Fayetteville with the interment to follow at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Raeford. Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Rivers of Living Waters Church.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to FirstHealth Hospice House, 251 Camp Ground Road, West End, NC 27376.
