In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her sister Doris Price Jones; and her brothers Donnie Wayne Price and Rhymon Guy Price Jr. (R.G.).
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Samuel G. Hall of Dunn, NC, her daughter Ruth Hall Nelson of Richmond, VA and her daughter Sarah Hall Johnson (Brian) of Dunn, NC. She was delighted with her grandchildren, Hunter Nelson, Tyler Nelson, Caitlin Nelson, Kevin Powers, Zachary Powers and Aaliyah Hall, which were especially fond of her chicken and pastry. She is also survived by her sister Edith Howard (Brooks), her brother Woodrow Price (Kathryn) as well as her in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Each of these were dearly loved and blessed by her.
Carolyn always welcomed each one who came to visit with open arms, and most often would prepare a fresh, home-cooked meal for them to enjoy. Her favorite thing to do was to feed the ones she loved, and her delicious home cooking will be missed by all. Even though she prepared wonderful meals to share with people, the table that she and Sammy prepared before those they met with the Gospel of Jesus Christ was the greatest filler of their souls. Their ministry together as a couple, next as Pastors and then in retirement brought spiritual food to many, introducing them to the One who could truly fill their lives.
Her manner was to do everything whole-heartedly and you would probably hear her doing so. During her time serving in various churches she earned the title of “The Little General” as she was tiny but feisty! That being said, she knew how to get things done and you would either need to step aside or join in her endeavors. There was no substitute for hard work in her world and she was a formidable “Boss”. Others could learn from her strong work ethic and desire to do her very best.
If you knew Carolyn, chances are she was helping take care of you in some way. She was blessed by God and in return she gave to her family, friends and all those she met and treated as family.
