Chris has been a friend of mine since sometime around 2007. He was always amused by the way we met. I found him on Myspace through a random search for a "nerdy" guy. Since Chris had the word "nerd" written on his profile, his picture came up in the search results! I messaged him, and our friendship took off from there. He always laughed about how I found him because I liked nerds. haha 

Chris was just an amazing person. I have never met anyone like him in my life. He is one of a kind, and can never be replaced. His spirit continues to live in all of us who knew him. May you RIP my dear friend. I will see you again one day!

My heart goes out to the family, I never met Chris, but he is related to me, his grandmother, Aunt Jennie to me, is my fathers sister.  Chris mom, Marianne is my cousin.  It is so sad that is life was taken at such a young age.  Prayers to the family.

Chris was an amazing and unique person who left a strong impression on everyone who knew him. He was his own person, marching to the beat of his own drum. He was wise way beyond his years and I learned much from him. He had a keen sense of humor which I really enjoyed. Marianne, Ray, Gina and Robert, I can't begin to know your pain but I am praying that God will give you the strength you need to cope with this tragedy. Chris's spirit will never die.

I never met Chris face-to-face, but I'd known him online for 10 years or so. We hadn't talked a whole lot lately, but once in a while we would talk about music--he even let me record some vocals with some of his music. He was a great, brilliant guy, and I am glad I knew him.

I still remember Chris when he was probably around 3 and can picture that adorable face.  He was so smart and talented even at that age.  I have so many good memories of the years I lived in Fayetteville.  May God's Grace strengthen you and may your heart and soul find peace and comfort during this difficult time.

My heart, thoughts and prayers are with the Ortega family during this hard time. I knew Chris for the last 5 years and he was such a wonderful guy with a wicked sense of humor. I am glad I had the chance to know him. My husband Victor Coburn grew up with Chris and were best friends since middle school. Chris's loss has upset him deeply. I hope Chris is at peace and his family gets peace as well.
