Clarence & Mabel Carter
Clarence and Mabel left this world within hours of one another. With over 71 years together in life and love, they now have an eternity together in heaven. They leave behind their loving family of four children: Joseph Lee, Timothy Owen (Dixie), Karen Burgess, and Lorrie Lewis (Joe); six grandchildren: Tony Burgess (Dina), Kellie Watson (Chance), Sherry Burgess (Daniel), Carlie Lewis, Shanna Burgess (Matt), and Austin Davis; and four great-grandchildren: Ashlin-Paige Burgess, Kenlie Watson, Jacob Burgess, and Luke Puczylowski. Mr. Clarence Carter, who retired from A&P Grocery after 37 years of service, was also a distinguished World War II Veteran; Mrs. Mabel Carter was employed by Roses Department Store for many years, where she was cherished for her dedication and warmth. Mr. and Mrs. Carter also had a deep love for the Lord, and enjoyed spreading the Word of God; they were beloved members of the Lafayette Baptist Church, where their humbleness, hardworking attitude, and caring demeanor endeared them to everyone they met.

Clarence & Mabel Carter
November 10, 2018
It's a love story for all to look upon and revel in the glory of God who led these two together and gave them 71 wonderful years.
Clarence and Mabel were my aunt and uncle. Mable was my Daddy's sister and I am a fortunate woman to have had a family that shared so much love and affection with each other.
I know there are no words of comfort I can give that will ease the pain of losing your parents but you can rejoice in the beauty of their time together and the desire each of them shared to remain together even in death. Your memories will sustain you and give you strength as you travel this path that you are being led down. We know all arrive here one day and it is with joy that we contemplate seeing the beauty of our Savior face.
May God Bless each of you and may the happiness of the love shared between your Mom and Dad remind you of all the blessings God gives us every day.
God is always with us. He never leaves us even in times of pain, sorrow, unhappiness. I send my love to each of you. I feel your pain, I know your heartache but I also know the joy of knowing your Mom and Dad are holding hands, gazing into the light of God beautiful face and singing to top of their voices in that choir of angels.
