Cornelia Murchison

Cornelia Murchison, lovingly known as Connie, age 60, passed away on July 23, 2026. Born on December 17, 1965, in Fort Dix, New Jersey, Cornelia was the daughter of the late James and Ingrid Robinson and grew up alongside five siblings. She later made her way to North Carolina, graduating from Seventy First High School in Fayetteville, and continued her education with determination, earning a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Education from the University of Phoenix.

Connie’s life reflected steady strength and a deep regard for others. She served her community through her work with the Hoke County Health Department and the Cumberland County ABC Board, approaching her responsibilities with care, professionalism, and a spirit of perseverance that carried her through every season of life.

In 1992, Connie married Darrall Murchison, and together they built a family rooted in love and loyalty. She was a devoted wife and mother to three children: Devon, Darrall, and Erika. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ingrid Robinson. She is survived by her husband, Darrall Murchison; her children, Devon Murchison, Darrall Murchison, and Erika Murchison; her siblings, Robert Kettler, Hellen Harlston, Caroline Robinson, James Robinson Jr., and Michael A. Robinson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

To those who knew her best, Connie’s warmth was unmistakable—her compassion showed up in the way she cared, listened, and made room for others. She was also known for a bright, quick humor that could lighten a room and bring people together, and many considered her a favorite aunt, sister, and friend. In quieter moments, she found joy in cooking, gardening, and bird watching—simple pleasures that reflected her steady appreciation for home, nature, and family.

Connie also gave of herself beyond her immediate circle, spearheading several community involvement programs focused on family preparedness. Her efforts spoke to a practical kind of care: the belief that communities are strengthened when people look out for one another and help families feel supported and ready.

A visitation with family and friends will be held at Reeves Funeral Home, 3308 N Main St, Hope Mills, North Carolina 28348, on August 1, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at Reeves Funeral Home on August 1, 2026, beginning at 1:00 pm.

Connie will be remembered for her loving spirit and giving heart. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
