Dereck Rafael Carrero, age 22, of Lumber Bridge, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. Dereck was born May 9, 1999. Left to cherish his memory is his mother Jadiera Caraballo-Lopez, his fathers Jonathan Figueroa and Rafael Carrero; his brothers Damien Figueroa, Nathaniel Carrero, and Jayden Carrero; his sister Camila Figueroa; and his grandparents Olga Sagardia & Rafael Carrero Ramirez, Maria Lopez & Juan Caraballo, and Evelyn Shelton & Wayne Shelton. Dereck also leaves behind many friends and family, as well as his faithful companion Akira "Kiki" Lopez.
There will be a visitation for Dereck on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 11 AM-1 PM at Reeves Funeral Home in Hope Mills, NC. The service will follow at 1 PM in the Reeves Funeral Home Chapel.
