Mrs. Jernigan, born on March 24, 1930, was a native of Sampson County. She was the daughter of the late Harvey Matthew Edwards and Clara Bell Jackson Edwards.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles T. Darden and Larry C. Jernigan.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and was self-employed as a cosmetologist for many years.
She is survived by her two sons, Gerald T. Darden (Anne) and Harvey Mitchell Darden (Janet); her two daughters, Sharon D. Clark (Kenneth) and Janet D. Warren (Curtis); eleven grandchildren; and many loving great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Harnett Devotional Gardens, 5665 Fairground Rd., Dunn, NC 28334, with Rev. Greg Tart and Rev. Billy Nowell officiating.
