Ethel "Peggy" Moore

Mrs. Ethel Elizabeth (Peggy) Moore, age 83, of North Orange Ave., Dunn entered her heavenly home early Saturday Morning, April 23, 2016 at her home as her children and grandchildren stood by her side.

Mrs. Moore was born in Harnett County on November 9, 1932 the daughter of the late William M. Strickland & Beulah Elizabeth Jones Strickland. She is preceded in death by her husband, Shelton (Coot) Moore and a sister, Josephine Vann.

Moore “Peggy as she was called”was a former worker at Morganite and was a part-time waitress. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother that enjoyed the simple things in life and loving her children, grandchildren and family.

Her greatest joy was her relationship with Jesus, you could find her sitting in her chair reading her Bible, playing gospel music or praying, it was her life. One of her favorite quotes was “Don’t worry Jesus looks after me.”

She was a member of St. Matthew Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. She was very active in her church and was honored on several occasions, One Mother’s Day she was honored as the oldest mother at church, she was honored for reading her Bible through 6 times and was Valentine Day Queen.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 2:00 pm at St. Matthew Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jerome Edwards Officiating. Burial will follow in Erwin Memorial Park.
