On the morning of January 2 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Evelyn Jacqueline (Jacky) Kerr Ferrell of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away after a lengthy illness. Jacky was born the eldest of seven in Marfrance, West Virginia on November 29, 1941 and grew up in Bellburn, a small coal mining town in the Alleghenies. For the whole of her life, she was a woman of uncommon generosity. She wed Thomas Justice Ferrell (deceased) at Fort Lewis, Washington on September 27, 1958, and is survived by three children—Thomas Justice Ferrell Jr., Michael Wayne Ferrell (both of Fayetteville), and Brenda Lee (Ferrell) Cox of Grenada, MS—six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and her six siblings. The funeral service will be at 2:00, Friday, January 3 at Reeves Funeral home in Hope Mills

Private burial will take place at a later date at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

Family the word alone describes the greatest lady I ever meet. See she not just your ordinary person she had amazing gift you see! It was to love so unconditional each and every one of us we felt special!! Now when time called for she could scolding us better than all the rest in our family too. The conversation she and I had are my treasures on this earth! See I have the honor of telling y’all she was saved for last from our family because god needed extra special spot for my Ant! When I get heaven I no she as well as my entire family will have a grand tell of her coming home! There will never come a day when I head threw the hills of North Carolina I want think of you! One of God’s greatest gift to me was you as my friend mentor Love you and everyone one in this great family!!!!!!!!!
