Glenn was born in Burke, NY on February 24 1947 and was one of nine siblings. He graduated from Franklin Academy High School in Malone, NY. Glenn went on to enlist in the Marine Corps in September 1969, proudly serving until August of 1971. After rejoining civilian life, Glenn began his new career with Alcoa as a melter in Massena, NY. Following many years of dedicated work, Glenn retired in 2005.
Glenn married Bonnie Jean (Chapple) Griffith on August 11th 1995. After retirement Glenn moved with his wife and daughter Heather to Fayetteville, NC. Once established Glenn started GGG mowing service and took pride in his work just like everything else he did in his life.
Glenn loved to talk, tell jokes, share stories and spend time with family and friends. His favorite joke to say was when someone would ask “Hey, How are you” and Glenn would reply with “lousy, thank you!” Once he got the confused look his response would be “What? I can’t sing, I can’t dance, I don’t smoke and my wife dresses me funny”. Boy, was he good at making someone laugh!
Glenns free time was spent enjoying multiple games of skip-bo, working on puzzles, watching westerns and his favorite shows on Netflix, working in the yard, and playing on his tablet.
Glenn is preceded in death by his father, Carlos C. Griffith, mother, Edith (Malark) Griffith, brothers Ernest and Carlos Griffith and sisters Eleanor, Hilda, and Alice Griffith.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife Bonnie Griffith, his children Chris (Crystal) Jadwick, Heather (Wilbur) Lampton, grandchildren Amanie and Christianna Jadwick, siblings Don Griffith, Dale Griffith, Carmen Maloney along with many loving family members.
Glenn would do anything for anyone. He had a smile that lit up any room, and an infectious laugh. He will be remembered for having the sweetest soul, a giving heart, the best hugs, his funny sense of humor, his smarts (he was really good with numbers), cleverness, soft hands, and the most beautiful handsome eyes.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Reeves Funeral Home. In honor of his memory there will be a catered meal after services serving Glenn's favorites…pizza, strawberry desserts and Cherry Pepsi. We welcome all to join us. To know Glenn was to love him. May his memory be eternal and forever in our hearts.
