Harry Lee "Pops" Campbell, Jr., age 81, of Lillington, departed this life on Saturday, January 18, 2020 in the Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington. He was born on March 12, 1938 in Murray City, Ohio to the late Harry Lee Campbell, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Campbell. He was also preceded in death by his eldest son: Kevin Campbell, two brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren. Harry loved to live life wide open. He loved to drive cars fast and even when he watched his favorite television shows, he couldn't be bothered with watching commercials. There wasn't any time for slowing down, except, maybe, when it came to time spent with people. I mean, just ask his great-grandbaby who would watch Jeopardy with Pops and who would always answer the question after it had been answered on the TV and just say "I beat you, Pops". Harry could walk into Carlie C's IGA for just a couple of items and end up spending two hours talking to a stranger he happened to run into. His favorite times would be when the whole family would get together for a big gathering and he would get to see them all and reminisce about all the good times they had together. Harry also was an avid fisherman and hunter in his earlier years.
Harry leaves behind to mourn his passing his wife: Dorothea Darlene Allen Campbell; four children: Katrina Lafoy of Lillington, Karen Parham of Lillington, Kyle Campbell and wife Debbie of Chesterhill, Ohio, Harry Campbell and wife Marcia of Chesterhill, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
In accordance with Harry's wishes, the family has elected cremation.
