Howard Marcillus Ross

Howard was born on July 21, 1949 in Richmond, Virginia to Howard Ross and Rose Ferguson Ross.

In 1974, he married Patricia Perry in Brooklyn, New York, and together they had one son, Marcellus Ross.

Cooking was one of Howard's greatest joys. He found happiness in preparing meals for the people he loved and inspiring those who had a desire to cook. Howard loved the holidays because this was a time when family and friends get together to enjoy great food and have a good time. His talent in the kitchen was known by family and friends who looked forward to every meal he prepared; especially his stuffing, fried chicken, corn pudding, and burgers on the beach and so much more.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Rose Ferguson Ross, and his brothers, William "Billy"Ferguson and Alfred Ross. He leaves behind his wife, Patricia Ross, his son, Marcellus Ross, his grandson, Rashad Ross; his sister, Sarah Esther Ross Petty; his brother in law, James Petty; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Howard's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Memorial Service will be held at Reeves Funeral Home, 3308 N Main St, Hope Mills, North Carolina 28348, on July 11, 2026, at 11:00 am.
