He was born in Waterloo, NY on April 17, 1936. James was well known throughout the community for his involvement with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Veterans Affairs and Military Order of the Cooties. He was a proud Veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the United States Army as a Combat Medic. James was attached to the 173rd Airborne and 82nd Airborne Divisions as well as Womack Army Hospital. Upon retirement and after trying many things, James and his wife Jeanette became long distance truck drivers and enjoyed their travels from east coast to west coast. They often shared many stories of stops along the way. One of their favorites being a stop in Laughlin, Nevada in the casinos. While not on the road they enjoyed time with the family
James is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jeanette; Children, Stepchildren, grandchildren and great grandchildren. James was also predeceased by two of his children.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on October 9, 2018 at the VFW Post 670, Doc Bennett Rd Fayetteville NC.
