Terry graduated from Southview High School in 1982. He then attended Appalachian State University where he studied physics. In 1991, he went on an adventure to Alaska where he decided he loved Alaska and lived there until 2020. In 2020, he moved back to Hope Mills.
Terry is preceded in death by his father, Roy Adrian Kelly. He is survived by his mother, Beverly Kelly and his brother Scott Kelly and his wife Andrea; his nieces and nephews, Beth, Alex, and Stephen.
