James Owen Robinson Sr.

James Owen Robinson was a Master Sergeant (Ret.) in the U.S. Army, a Vietnam War veteran, long time Wal-Mart manager, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, colleague, and friend.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 years, Ingrid Paula Robinson, formerly Kohl; their daughters Hellen Harlston and her husband Sterling; Caroline Robinson and her husband Henry; Cornelia Murchison and her husband Darrall. He also leaves behind their sons, James Owen Robinson Jr. and his wife Michelle; Michael Robinson and his wife Melanie; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

The family will accept friends for visitation on Friday April 1, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Reeves Funeral Home in Hope Mills. Funeral services will be held Saturday April 2, 2022 at 11:00 am at Reeves Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will take place at Cumberland Memorial Gardens following the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a tax-exempt contribution be made out to the Robinson and Paige Family Scholarship Foundation at 15410 Carrington Ridge Dr. Huntersville, NC 28078.

In its inception, James was instrumental in procuring the foundation’s 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. In addition to James’s annual monetary contribution to the foundation, he served as the foundation’s treasurer from 2004 to 2017.

The Robinson and Page Family Scholarship Foundation has provided twenty-one scholarships in various fields of study. These scholarships support students with expenses while attending accredited universities, colleges, and trade schools. This is all made possible through donations.
