Janice Lovick Thomas, age 89, passed away on January 30, 2020. She was born in Cumberland County to Walter A. and Margaret W. Lovick. She is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney C. Thomas. Janice loved her family and her many friends and the Suffolk Presbyterian Church, where she was the organist for many years. She was a very kind and beautiful person both inside and out. Janice was an elementary school teacher in North Carolina and South Carolina during her working years. She touched everyone she met with her gentle way, kind heart and the brightest, most loving smile ever seen. Janice made this world a better place and will be greatly missed.
Janice leaves behind to honor her legacy, her son: Sid Thomas, Jr. and wife Melissa; daughters: Nancy Thomas Gates and husband Burhman and Rosemary Thomas Boles and husband Johnny; grandsons: Austin Jordan and Jacob Thomas and Cameron L. Gates; sister: Bonnie Lee of Dunn; sisters-in-law: Violet Braxton and Ruth Cashion of Sanford; brothers-in-law: Halford P. Thomas of Broadway and Larry J. Thomas of Ocean Isle Beach.
A graveside service to commemorate the life of Janice Lovick Thomas will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 8, 202 in the Old Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
