

Jean was born in New York, to Steven and Agnes McConney. She was raised in Barbados where she met her first husband, Louis Meraz. They were married in 1948, and had five children together. They were married for 18 years.
Later she met and married the love of her life, Ted Browne, in 1967, and had another son. They were married for 58 years. She loved her family more than anything.
Jeans faith was unwavering. She was a proud founding member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, in Hope Mills, North Carolina; and she even helped build the church. She worked alongside Barbara Harold as the church secretary.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Steven and Mark; and her daughter, Virginia. She is survived by her husband, Ted; three daughters, Louise, Marlene, and Amalia; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
A visitation for Jean will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 5050 Oak St., Hope Mills, North Carolina 28348. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 12:00 PM, 5050 Oak St., Hope Mills, North Carolina 28348. A burial will occur Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Cumberland Memorial Gardens, 4509 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, North Carolina.
