Jennings Bryan Gamble

Jennings Bryan Gamble, 92, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on February 8, 2025. He was born on May 29, 1932, to Otis and Nancy Gamble in Chilhowie, Virginia.

Growing up during the hardships of the Great Depression taught Bryan to be a provider and instilled in him a defining love of family. He was a generous man who forged deep and long-lasting friendships. He served in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he worked in the building supply business as a business owner and later as a manager, eventually retiring from ACI Glass after an uninterrupted career of nearly 50 years. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, was an avid runner and golfer. He leaves an indelible mark of love and dignity on all those he touched.

Bryan is preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Franklin Barfield; his parents, Otis and Nancy Gamble; and his siblings, Ethel Tice, Betty Walsh, Olivene Robbins, Bill Gamble, and Lee Gamble. He is survived by his children, Martha Odom (Dennis), Mark Gamble (Cathy), Melodie Malcolm (Mark), and Matthew Gamble (Mary); his grandchildren, Jennifer Barfield (Stu), Jessica Winchell (Chris), Kimberly Costello (Dylan), Kelsy Hsieh (Nick), Bryan Gamble II (Heather), Mark Gamble Jr., Spencer Gamble, Kevin Sherrill, Keith Sherrill, Eric Sherrill (Nao), Samuel Gamble, and Wyatt Gamble; his great grandchildren, Victor, Jordan, Isla, Miles, Alice, Harlynn, and Avery; his partner, Carol Sear; and the mother of his children, Wilma Gamble; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

A visitation for Bryan will be held Friday, February 14, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 3308 N Main St, Hope Mills, North Carolina 28348. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 14, 2025, at 12:30 PM at 3308 N Main St, Hope Mills, North Carolina 28348. A burial will occur Friday, February 14, 2025, at Cumberland Memorial Gardens, 4509 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Mr. Gamble’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
