Joe Samuel Bohannon

January 5, 1948June 3, 2019

Retired MSG Joe Samuel Bohannon, 71, of Parkton passed away at his home Monday, June 3, 2019, surrounded by family and friends. Left to cherish his memory are his Mother, Betty Bohannon; his son, Mike; daughters Sandra, Teresa and Brenda; and his grandchildren, Lacey, Keaira, Landen, Christopher, Alan, Casey, Chance and Ryan. Retired MSG Bohannon served his country with valor and pride in the United States Army and will have full military honors at the graveside. Apart from serving his country he had a great passion for spending time fishing or at the golf course. A Visitation with family and friends will be held at Reeves Funeral Home in Hope Mills from 6 to 8 PM Friday, June 7, 2019. Funeral Services will be held in the Reeves Funeral Home Chapel at 11 AM Saturday, June 8, 2019 with Burial following the service at Rockfish Memorial Park, Fayetteville, NC.

I cannot think about 1SG Bohannon without smiling.
Memories of him just make ya feel good.
You knew you could count on him to lead you in the right direction,
to do the right thing. You knew he was on your side and had your back.
And smiling the whole time.
Whether it was on Ft Bragg, or inside Hoke Correctional Institution, he was
a quality guy.

I met Joe in 1985 & served with him for many years at Ft. Bragg. We stayed in touch over the years. My prayers and thoughts go out to the family. Joe was a great friend and an outstanding 1sgt who led by example and always had a smile on his face. You will be missed Top ! Blue skies and fair winds, will link up with you on the Drop Zone Top !
