Born to Gould and Alexandrina Perryman in Grenada, John later moved to Canada in 1970. In 1974, he met Neisha, and they were married just three days later—a remarkable union that endured until his death, 52 years later.
John was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Neisha Perryman; his daughter, Mandy Jarrett and her husband Daniel; his brother, Nathaniel Perryman; his sisters, Jean Charles, Marie Mitchell, and Evelyn Perryman; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
John enjoyed gardening, tinkering with cars, and woodworking. He loved working with his hands and being outdoors, finding purpose and satisfaction in practical work and the simple rhythms of time spent creating, repairing, and tending.
Above all, John will be remembered for the way he showed up for others. He was always there for someone in need and would give his last dollar to help someone who needed it. A steady presence and a mentor to many young people up and coming in the world, John leaves a legacy of generosity, guidance, and quiet strength that will be carried forward by all who knew and loved him.
