Johnny Bryant

Johnny Bryant, 86, passed away at home Tuesday, August 29, 2023.

Johnny was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years Betty Hair Bryant.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Johnny Wayne Bryant (wife Marisha) of Erwin, NC, Ricky Allen Bryant (wife Teresa Ann) of Linden, NC, Timothy Joel Bryant (wife Kelly), of Fayetteville, NC, and Shirley Irizarry (husband Richard) of Linden, NC; his grandchildren William Drew Bryant, Jamie Allen Bryant, Brian Adam Bryant, Brittany Jean Bryant, Kolbie Bryant, Madison Walters, Jennifer Johnson, Stacy Willis, Wendy Brown, Dean Irizarry, and Ian Irizarry; Johnny also leaves behind multiple great-grandchildren, and his brother Roy Bryant.

Johnny was an extraordinary man who was always willing to help everyone. He worked as a telephone lineman for over 60 years, most of his life. That dedication and commitment was seen in every aspect of his life; he loved gardening and playing with his backhoe, and he had a sweet tooth for ice cream, especially Fudge Ripple. He also seemed to have all the answers, and although he griped about it, he would answer anyone who asked him a question. Johnny also enjoyed eating at seafood buffets, with oysters being his favorite, and he loved Westerns; he had a special admiration for John Wayne. He missed the love of his life Betty after she passed away, but took comfort in loving and caring for her dog, a Cock-a-poo named Jada. He had a generous heart, and was always helping people; he will be greatly missed by his family, but now he will be reunited with his beloved Betty in Heaven.

The visitation for Family and Friends of Johnny Bryant will be Friday, September 1, 2023 from 10 AM-11 AM at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home in Dunn, NC, with a graveside service following at 11:30 AM at Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery in Dunn, NC.
