
Lawrence Jerome Hagofsky, born on August 4, 1938, passed away on February 16, 2026, at the age of 87. A meticulous and hard-working individual, Lawrence was a beloved member of the community and a hardcore Democrat who was very politically motivated.
Lawrence grew up in Ford City, Pennsylvania, as the youngest of twelve children. He served with distinction as a Master Sergeant in the United States Army 82nd Airborne, completing three tours in Vietnam. After a dedicated career, Lawrence retired from military service.
During his time in the military, Lawrence met his wife, Mary, in Kolding, Denmark, while both were serving their country. They shared a loving marriage of 45 years. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Mary Hagofsky, his children, Elizabeth Hagofsky, and Joseph Conaway and his wife Annabelle. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Henry Edward Forsyth and James Benedict Forsyth, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and battle buddies. He was preceded in death by his eleven siblings.
Outside of his military career, Lawrence was a longtime member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, where he was actively involved in the community.
Lawrence Jerome Hagofsky will be remembered for his dedication, meticulous nature, and unwavering commitment to his beliefs and family.
