A Celebration of Life will be held at Lake Lynn Baptist Church, 3363 Gillespie Street, Fayetteville, NC 28306, on September 12, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
Throughout her life, Loretta carried herself with steady devotion and a quiet, generous spirit that showed most clearly in the ways she cared for others. She worked for decades as a bookkeeper for her husband, her son, as well as Holt Williamson and American Uniforms—faithfully supporting the work and responsibilities entrusted to her with diligence and reliability. She also served as a cafeteria worker for Cumberland County schools, continuing to work until retiring in her 80s, a reflection of her selfless commitment and strong sense of duty.
Loretta’s love extended beyond her work and home into the simple joys that made life bright. She loved all animals, especially her cat, Beckham, and found happiness in flowers and the beauty of nature. Whether enjoying the beach, the mountains, or time spent traveling, Loretta appreciated the world with a gentle gratitude that those closest to her came to know well.
Her faith remained a guiding presence throughout her life, and she held a special love for her church family at Lake Lynn Baptist Church and her friends at Pine Ridge Manor Apartments. In that community, Loretta’s kind-hearted nature and faithful presence were both felt and valued, and her absence will be deeply shared.
Loretta is preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Sonny" Carver; her parents, Viola and Lester Williams; her brothers, Lamar, HL, Bobby Sr, and Riley Williams; her sister, Margie Jones; and her grandsons, Sam Carver and Wesley Bryant.
She is survived by her children, Eddie Carver, Virginia Rogers, and Barbara Bryant; her grandchildren, Sean Bryant and Joshua Rogers; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
