She was born on March 13,1927, in Patillo, Puerto Rico, to the late Hipolito Rodriguez and Delores "Lola" Velasquez.
Mrs. Garcia passed away and has joined her late husband, Santiago Cristobal Martinez "Chago" Garcia, her daughter Yvette 'Betty" Garcia, and her grandson Christopher Locklear in heaven.
She came to New York in 1951 and soon thereafter she became a nurse's aide in a Manhattan, New York Hospital. In 1981 she moved with her husband to North Carolina where they established their forever home.
She leaves to cherish her memory her four children Annie Mazo, Lydia Locklear, Elia Garcia, Ricky Garcia, and her granddaughter Eranthe Badillo who she raised as her own. Lydia was blessed to have 10 grandchildren,18 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Lydia Garcia was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
